How can teachers develop data analysis skills in their students?
In order to develop data analysis skills in their students teachers should demonstrate how to collect, interpret, and represent data. Teachers can ask questions that require the students to back up their answers with data, or teachers can provide students with data and ask questions that require the students to interpret the data. Also, teachers can provide assignments that require students to represent data in charts like pie charts, for example.

ReplyDeleteI like the idea that the teachers ask the students to back up their data. Students should know how they arrive at any problem or information that they inquire. They should not rely or computers or others to give them the information. They need to understand the data that they have.

Backing up their answers with data is a great idea. Anybody can give an answer, but not many can back up what they are really saying with reliable data and research. I think it should be a requirement in the early grades to learn how to find data for their answers.
